Jazz is the first thing that comes to mind when we see a saxophone, it's an incredibly complex instrument with lots of bits and bobs, since we love detail and Jazz this saxophone was inspired by our famous Applique Guitar. Creativity goes hand in hand with music, not a day goes by we don't have a tune playing in the background.
Add a little Jazz to your room with this stunning piece done in raw edge applique coupled with our new technique to prevent fraying and prolong the life of your quilt.
We start off with a base fabric, on which the applique is done in either pre-cut or cut in the hoop method (SVG files included as well as printable PDF's) - then when all your pieces are placed we add a layer of tulle to cover the entire block. This prevents fraying and ensures your quilt stay beautiful for years to come. The quilting on top ensures the detail pop whilst further securing the pieces together.
For this project I used only two applique fabrics, plain cotton black for the instrument and a gold lamé for the horn and bracket in block 7.
