A Rose for my Rose Window
No this is not the start of a romance novel, although we totally fell in love this pattern anyway!
If you're reading this we're sure you're still catching your breath as this project is definitely a breath taker! From start to finish this project was an absolute blast to design, stitch and assemble.
We love Gothic architecture for it's stunningly decorated cathedrals, the way the light reflects through the stain glass windows and the shear effort that went into making these age old wonders we still get to admire today. They're a marvel that keeps us bewondered.
With inspiration drawn from the Gothic era we've created a window to the stunning Hoffman Dream Big Rose panel, the quilting resembles the intricate stained glass detail, each of which is unique and tells it's own story.
We've used a technique called reversed applique whereby we cover the printed panel with a whole cloth and only snip away the top layer to reveal the layer below. Only then is the quilting done, this gives it the illusion that you're looking through a Rose Window onto the Rose Panel, A rose for my rose window.
You'll need a min hoop size of 7x10" to complete this project. We've also included files for a custom ruler that would make marking out your fabric a breeze, this is not required to have, but well worth the investment to have one cut if you plan on making a couple of these quilts. You can of course use paper or card cut on your vinyl cutter for a quick, cheap temporary ruler. Watch our YouTube tutorial as we also show how to do your markings without the ruler.
