SDS4283 Grandfather Clock Quilt

This exquisite grandfather clock design consists of 16 blocks and features our new applique technique—fewer stitches, crisper details, and a flawless finish!

Finished quilt size before borders and binding:
In the files you will find 3 different sizes and if you make a block like the image on
the left, the finished sizes (without borders) will be as follows:

• 6x9” size – 43” x 15.84” (without borders and binding)
• 8x12” size – 57.8 x 21.24” (without borders and binding)
• 9.5x14” size – 75.62 x 27.5” (without borders and binding.

Fabric Requirements:

• White background fabric – 0.83 – 1.5 yard (depending on the size you make)
• Dark Brown for bulk of the clock – 0.5 - 1 yard
• For all other colours 0.25 yard should be sufficient if you follow the colours I
  used. However look in your scraps and use that fabric, as long as the fabric
  colours goes well together, this is a great project to use up scraps in your bin.
• Batting for each of the 16 hoopings, Back fabric about 3 inches larger than your
  front – as per sizes of the finished block size above.
• Fabric for your borders if you will add that, 0.5 yard should be plenty
• Binding – 0.25 - .50 yard

Quilting rulers and rotary cutter
Paper to cut your templates if you want to pre cut or a cutting machine like a scan
and cut/silhouette etc
Thread – 1 color of your choice, I used the same color throughout.
Applique Iron on backing for all fabric pieces
Organza (optional) we used a glitter organza overlay, which gives such a stunning
look and seals in any of the raw cutting edges for a permanent and neat look. You
can opt to not use that, but will rely then on the applique iron on backing to keep
your fabric in place as well as the quilting, which should be fine, but over time and
wash after wash might come loose in some corners and areas and start fraying, so
we opt to use the organza overlay, which is a total game changer on these high
detail, raw edge applique designs.
